Plasat la intersecția dintre film, modă și branding, Bucharest Fashion Film Festival, programat pentru toamna anului 2016, își anunță ediția pilot prin expoziția, găzduită în perioada 27 mai - 5 iunie la Point.
Selecționată ca eveniment conex în cadrul Romanian Design Week 2016, expoziția prezintă o mostră de cinema experimental din arealul scenei de modă internaționale. Vizitatorii vor putea pătrunde în nucleul industriei, explorând un labirint textil dinamic, în interiorul căruia vor fi proiectate în loop scurtmetraje relevante pentru filmul de modă.
Instalația, realizată in colaborare cu Cristiana Cott Negoescu, artist multimedia, prezintă în regim de silent cinema 12 scurtmetraje realizate pentru branduri din avangarda scenei de modă internaționale, incluzând atât nume celebre cât și tineri designeri. Selecția de filme valorifică producția de estetici alternative sub forma unor reprezentări identitare, corporale sau stilistice, generate de discursul postcolonial sau provenite din subculturi. Astfel, prin proiecțiile și evenimentele organizate, festivalul încurajează ideile nonconformiste dublate de voci puternice, diversitatea în reprezentare și abordarea realistă a industriei. Proiecțiile sunt menite să intrige și să stârnească imaginația publicului, punând sub semnul întrebării status-quo-ul modei contemporane.

Vernisajul expoziției The Many Folds of an Exquisite World va avea loc în data de 27 mai, începând cu orele 19.00, la subsolul Point, strada Eremia Grigorescu nr.10, urmând ca instalația să poată fi vizitată în weekendurile următoare, respectiv 28-29 mai și 3-5 iunie, între orele 11.00 și 22.00

Bucharest Fashion Film Festival își propune să devină un forum de discuție despre relația dintre modă și film prin proiecții de film, dezbateri și evenimente speciale. The first festival in Romania at the crossroads of fashion, film and advertising, Bucharest
Fashion Film Festival, programmed for the autumn of 2016, announces its pilot edition through the exhibition The Many Folds of an Exquisite World, hosted between May 27th and June 5th at Point.
As part of the Romanian Design Week 2016 circuit, the exhibition presents a sample of experimental cinema from the field of the international fashion scene. Developed in collaboration with multimedia artist Cristiana Cott Negoescu, the installation presents in a silent cinema regime 12 shorts commissioned for brands set at the forefront of the international fashion scene, ranging from up-and-coming designers to more established brands. The selection centers around the production of alternative aesthetics in the form of countercultural and postcolonial representations of identities, bodies and styles.Therefore, by use of screenings and special events, the festival supports thought-provoking ideas, reinforced by strong voices, diversity in representation and a realist approach of the industry. The screenings aim to intrigue and stir the imagination of the public by questioning the status quo of contemporary fashion.

The opening of The Many Folds of an Exquisite World will take place on the 27th of May, starting with 19.00, in the basement of Point, 10 Eremia Grigorescu St. The exhibition can be visited during the following two weekends, precisely May 28th-29th and June 3rd-5th, between 11 am- 10pm.
